8th December 2017: 150 Years of The Civil Servants Joint Stock Fund (MTPY)

 

Two stamps depicting the building of MTPY in Lykourgou Str. & Aiolou (€0,72) and the founder of the Fund, Dimitrios N. Levidis (€2,50), printed in sheets of 25 stamps. The MTPY is a decentralised public service and operates as a Special State Fund, in which all Greek civil servants hold obligatory shares. The purpose of the fund is to pay a dividend to its shareholders and their families, relative to the size of their deposits, in a manner which is fair and ensures its long-term viability.

11th October 2017: The battle for the Power Plant

 

Two stamps remembering the defenders of the Athens-Piraeus Electric Company's plant in Keratsini. On October 13th, 1944, they prevented its destruction from the occupying troops that were fleeing the country. The stamps depict the remembrance monument by Christo Kaprala from 1948 (€0,50) and an engraving by Thomas Molou (€1,00) and were printed in sheetlets of 25 stamps.
